Jonny & Jono are driven to create work that entertains audiences beyond traditional advertising, an approach validated recently with a nomination for a Grierson Documentary award for their film, Boys from the Back of Beyond for Red Bull. The film is one of four nominated in the Short Documentary category and is the first time since 1970 that a brand funded film has been nominated alongside the likes of Netflix, C4 and the BBC.
Their Black Cab Sessions platform, conceived and launched the year after YouTube started, has racked up over 40 million views across 250+ sessions and been hailed as a global phenomenon. The format was also turned into a six-part TV series for C4, BBCW and Canal+.
